What we do ...
It is our aim to support Silistra in as many ways as possible. We keep our readers informed through details on our website .. we promote the work of Dougi and Bernie locally and through our news page ... and we try to raise awareness through web articles and press releases both here and in the UK. More directly, though, we have set up arrangements so that, for every night's stay booked in our Planina Vista accommodation, a cash donation will go straight to the Orphanage Fund ... and this is where you come in. These donations will come from the booking fees that we receive and, because we consider that those making bookings with us should have a say in this, our reservation form now includes a simple option check-box. There are also many other ways in which you can help ... Dougi and Bernie have outlined a number of their key priorities on the Orphanage website so see ...

| Dougie and Berni Leggett, who currently live in Peterborough in the UK, are two ordinary people working to pay the bills and enjoy a holiday when they can. They have been visiting Bulgaria holiday resorts now for a number of years and, in their own words, they love the country, the people and their traditions and most of all, they feel very passionate about the children in Bulgaria's Orphanages In 2005, Dougi and Bernie bought a house in Silistra and soon got to know the neighbours, the villagers, their families and the Dimcho Debelianov Orphanage, which is located in Silistra, overlooking the river Danube. To cut a long story short, Dougi and Bernie have dedicated the past few years of their lives to the children at the Orphanage. They work tirelessly to raise funds, manage gifts and donations, channel local support activities and organise transport to Bulgaria ... plus a thousand and one other things that help make life better for the children.
