Background ...

There are many charities in Bulgaria supporting a wide range of causes from: Animal Welfare to Overseas Aid .. Children in Need to Community Service .. Hunger & Poverty to Human Rights .. and Education to Ethnic and Environmental Issues. Bulgaria's network of charities spreads throughout the country, with branches, offices and operations in almost every town and city. This means that it is relatively simple to become involved in the way of volunteering and / or donations .. but, at the same time, it makes things somewhat less easy to select the most deserving charity. But there are two ways in which you can help with this ... Firstly, you will notice that we have set up arrangements so that, for every night's stay booked in our Planina Vista accommodation, a cash donation will go into a separate 'Charities' bank account that will be used to fund donations at the end of each year. These donations will come from the booking fees that we receive from our guests and, because we consider that those making bookings with us should have a say in this, our reservation form now includes a simple option check-box that you can tick (or un-tick) as you choose at the time of booking. Secondly, we have listed below a number of charities and charitable organisations and we would ask that you spend a few minutes browsing through these to select your preferred charity .. and then let us know by e-mail to our Comments & Feedback mailbox. We will track all responses and keep you informed through details news page and on Twitter @BulgariaGateway. We will also continue to try and raise awareness through web articles and press releases both here and in the UK.
